Meet Angela……
WHERE WE STARTED
When Ange initially came to us…
DIAGNOSIS
Sept 21 Bike Crash – Shoulder Injury – rotator cuff tears
Large Right Glute med partial thickness tear
PROGNOSIS
Offered steroid injections & long rehab ahead
Suggested pain might be ongoing
“It took me a long time to pluck up the courage to approach you to help me with my strength training - the fear of failing, the fear of being broken again, my back buckling and the nerve pain reappearing concerned me but after our first chat your positivity and excitement with how you could help me was a game changer. I have learnt this last 6months to have belief in myself and my body’s ability to adapt and strengthening with the correct programming and process. Your daily knowledge and wisdom shared on instagram constantly reminds us why it is so important to strengthen our bodies for longevity. I do feel I am on the way to being a stronger version of me and I am very thankful to you”

Return to Run
“Shout out to Kriss for your knowledge and expertise strengthening me in what has been a year like no other….
“... After my base strength testing in January over zoom I did look/chuckle at you in disbelief with the goals you felt were achievable......lifting my body weight and chin ups to name only two. I might need to mention that in January after my back and pelvis injuries lifting a 3kg dumbell was the limit. The progressive weight loading to help my muscles adapt and gain strength has been awesome. I stand taller through my thoracic spine and feel a much stronger person overall than I did. Maintaining my strength is so important to be able to achieve goals and do the things I love on a daily basis. Proud to say WE have achieved those goals...lifting body weight reps @ 55kg barbell back squat and close grip chin up reps band assisted. Thanks Kriss for our zoom chats, technique comments and positive affirmation they have empowered me immensely.”

Challenges along the way
The journey is never linear…
Long recovery period – mentally and physically challenging
“‘Hi Kriss and Sophie, I completed my second ultramarathon today - The Chiltern Ridge Ultra Trail 50K. A beautiful route but some very slippy conditions in places. However, I came out strong and with my team supporting me (you guys, Angela, and now Paul Booth) I felt confident to take on the challenge. A sub 5 hour time was a dream result as was finishing 16th out of 213 competitors. Thank you both again for all your ongoing help and support with my strength and conditioning that supports my running so well.’

THE RESULT
Where Oliver is today…
“‘I know I perhaps have gone over it a few times before, but I wanted to remind you of my story with you. In January 2022 I got the diagnosis that I had ruptured the medial meniscus in my left knee, and the consultant felt he was unlikely to ever get me running again. This devastating news had me convinced I would not be able to run again. 5 days later I met you. You pretty much know the rest! Within 9 months I was running across Madeira. I did my first Ultramarathon in January 2023, second one in May and today I completed my first ever 50 mile ultra. To even be considering such an undertaking would have seemed insane back in January 2022. To be toeing the line just simply mad. But with the help and support of brilliant people like you, my running coach Angela, and nutritionist Paul that’s where I was. And then I went and won it! Please don’t ever underestimate the impact you have on people’s lives - I am forever grateful. Thank you so much (gin is on its way!)”
