However, it’s Laura’s back story that makes her result even more special, from a year in a wheelchair following a road traffic accident, two previous medical DNF’s at UTMB and two bouts of COVID earlier this year, it was Laura’s positivity, determination and consistent hard work that got her to that finish line.

“There is no way I could have expected more from my SFE journey to date. I came seeking help, a bit lost, suffering with recurring nerve pain, hamstring troubles and a weak posterior chain.
I'd tried numerous ways by myself to get out of the situation and I just couldn't get anything to stick. “I started working with SFE again after I tore the meniscus in my knee and was faced with the prospect of surgery. They helped me focus on what I can do and develop rather than what I cannot do with my knee.
Strength training was something I enjoyed but undervalued, as a masters runner, and increasing volume without being strong first was not a great approach. After four months of solid work, steady progression in returning to running, I completed a 10km race with no knee pain.”
